Qualifications

  • Current HCPC/NMC Registration required.
  • Post graduate experience in Theatres essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ Anaesthetics experience necessary.

Overview

Role: Senior Theatre Practitioner – Anaesthetics. Location: The Wellington Hospital. Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week. Shifts: 4 or 5 days a week, occasional weekends. Contract: Permanent. Salary: Competitive + Shift Enhancements.

Join our outstanding Theatre team at The Wellington Hospital (CQC rated Good) as a Senior Theatre Practitioner – Anaesthetics. We are seeking a dynamic and committed professional with experience in cardiac cases to help us deliver exceptional patient care.

Our 13 theatres across 3 buildings support a wide range of specialities, underpinned by advanced equipment, technology, and a truly supportive team culture.

This is a busy, fast-paced environment with theatres opening from 7:30am. Cases can be long, so flexibility is key, but you’ll always be part of a strong, collaborative team.

What you’ll do
  • Support the anaesthetist across all perioperative phases
  • Prepare, check, and manage anaesthetic equipment and drugs
  • Monitor and respond to patients’ conditions during procedures
  • Act as a clinical leader and role model within the team
  • Support safe staffing, rota planning, and service improvement
What you’ll bring
  • Current HCPC/NMC Registration
  • Post graduate experience in Theatres
  • 5 years’ Anaesthetics experience (essential)
  • Anaesthetics course
