A law enforcement agency in Portishead is seeking a Senior Technical Support Officer to provide technical support for radio devices. The role involves installing and configuring radio systems to meet performance standards, and requires strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. A market supplement of £3,000 is available, complementing a competitive salary package. Candidates must have a checkable 5-year history in the UK and a valid UK driving license, which may include on-call requirements.
This role is currently eligible for a market supplement in addition to the basic salary to reflect determined market conditions. Eligibility for and value of Market factors are reviewed on an annual basis and are not contractual. It can be confirmed, therefore, that a market supplement at the rate of "£3000 (£pro rata)" per annum will be payable.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Technical Support Officer with specialist expertise in radio devices to join our IT Directorate. This is a key technical role providing expert support, development, and analysis across our radio infrastructure and associated technologies.
You’ll be part of a dynamic team responsible for the design, installation, configuration, and ongoing support of IT services and devices, ensuring they meet agreed performance and ITIL standards. Your work will directly contribute to the stability, availability, and security of our critical communications systems.
Working at Police Headquarters, Portishead with occasional travel to other police sites (you will have access to company vehicles).
There will be occasions when you are required to travel around the force area therefore the successful person will need to hold a full UK driving licence. Please note that following a successful probation period, this post has a potential on‑call requirement for which appropriate allowances will be paid.

The base salary for this role is £41,487 - £44,700, you will also receive a market factors uplift of up to £3,000 (depending on experience)
