Qualifications

Senior Supervisor (Military Airworthiness Reviewer)

Serco is recruiting a Senior Supervisor Military Airworthiness Reviewer (MAR) to join our team at RNAS Yeovilton. This role involves conducting Military Airworthiness Reviews for aircraft under the charge of RNAS Yeovilton Delivery Duty Holder, as directed by the Mil AR Team Leader, in accordance with current policy. The Senior Supervisor (MAR) will be part of the Commando Helicopter Force based at RNAS Yeovilton, with support responsibilities at other military establishments as needed.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leading independent Airworthiness Reviews (ARs) and compiling report findings.
  • Consulting with the MAR Team Leader, raising Defence Aviation Safety Occurrence Reports (DASORs), conducting AR process reviews, and managing Quality Occurrence Reports (QORs), Narrative Fault Findings (MF760), and Unsatisfactory Feature Reports (MF765) related to airworthiness issues.
  • Providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) AR support within the department and mentoring less experienced staff or new joiners.
  • Reviewing AR findings to support Continuing Airworthiness Maintenance Organisation (CAMO) activities, Technical Data Exploration (TDE), and trending analysis.
  • Preparing AR trend and TDE reports for various meetings such as CAMMs, Data Exploitation and Trending Working Group (DETWG), and Air Safety Board, as directed by the MAR Team Leader.
  • Carrying out contracted tasks in accordance with Customer Regulations and Policies, ensuring timely completion.
  • Reporting all business risks and quality issues to the Serco AESAS Site Manager.
  • Communicating training needs for employees, including regulatory, continuation, induction, human factors, and equipment training, to the Site Manager.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, management systems, environmental policies, and equal opportunities policies.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and supporting other tasks as directed by the Site Manager.
  • Utilizing reporting tools like DASOR and Assure to capture and communicate findings, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Monitoring hazards, risks, and issues, and participating in hazard mitigation activities.
  • Supporting ongoing professional development and training.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 5 years' experience in a military or industry airworthiness environment at a senior supervisory level or higher.
  • Qualified and experienced to hold authorized Level E certification per Brd767, NAO Series 4000, especially 4806 and 4972.
  • Possession of a Service Certificate of Competency (CoC) or equivalent, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Previous supervisory experience with a strong knowledge of aircraft engineering, systems, servicing, and support equipment.
  • Experience with project planning, lean operations, naval publications, safety regulations, and asset management systems.
  • Completion of relevant courses such as Maintenance Human Factors, Aircraft Custodian, Baines Simmons Continuous Airworthiness Management, and GoldEsp at a Senior Supervisor level or above.
  • Understanding of rotary and fixed-wing military aviation procedures, and regulatory compliance experience (MAA and MAOS).
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
