Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly-respected, well-established multidisciplinary consultancy offering bespoke design services for a diverse range of projects across the civil, structural, and geotechnical sectors. The client is seeking a motivated, experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead a growing team in the structural design of commercial, industrial, health, leisure, retail, and residential projects near York and at other locations across the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Design a multitude of structures across commercial, industrial, and residential developments.
  • Lead high-profile projects from inception through successful delivery.
  • Forge, maintain, and manage client relations across public and private sectors.
  • Represent the company at design team meetings and site visits.
Required skills and experience
  • Hold a Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering (or similar background).
  • Be a Chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE), or actively working toward Chartership status.
  • Extensive relevant experience within a UK consultancy setting.
  • Experience with new-build projects, including good working knowledge of foundation and retaining wall design.
  • Excellent working knowledge of all structural materials.
  • Proficiency in preparing calculation packages and assisting colleagues.
  • Demonstrable competency in TEKLA and TEDDS, as well as AutoCAD.
  • Extensive experience in preparing structural engineering inspection reports for a variety of building types and structures.
  • Knowledge of relevant technical standards, including Eurocodes.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience liaising with stakeholders across public and private sectors.
  • Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety protocols, and legal regulations.
  • Hold a full, valid UK driving licence.
Desirable skills and experience
  • Previous experience in roads and sewer design.
  • Good working knowledge of Revit software.
