Overview

Immediate W2 contract position available in Birmingham, AL / Remote Opportunity.

Estimated Duration: 6 months

Job Description / Desired Qualifications:

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models and design drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and/or ductwork.
• Prepare layouts and conceptual designs; review vendor shop fabrication drawings when applicable.
• Prepare material takeoffs and assist with cost estimates.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines, clients, and contractors.
• Perform site walk-downs for field verification and to address constructability.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of heavy industrial/power plant experience.
• Proficient using AutoCAD with extensive 3D modeling and drawing creation experience.
• Experience with Advance Steel.
• Steel and concrete detailing background.
• Strong technical writing skills; able to produce clear, concise drawing notes.
• Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
• Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff, and/or vendors.
