We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Senior Stores Officer to enhance our already established friendly and supportive stores team who will contribute to the key work of Lancashire County Council's Growth, Environment, Transport & Health Directorate. Working within the stores team of Fleet Services providing support to a fleet operation of over 700 vehicles, plant and equipment.

What We are Looking for:

Someone to join our busy stores team at the main Fleet Services workshop in Bamber Bridge, Preston. This team is central to keeping Lancashire County Council's fleet moving by managing the flow of parts and tooling to support our vehicles, plant, and workshop operations. You'll play a key part in this team ensuring everything runs smoothly within the fleet stores.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Ordering spare parts and tooling for all council vehicles, plant, and ancillary workshop items.
  • Liaising with suppliers by telephoning and email asking for quotes on parts, order chasing etc
  • Picking, transferring, and issuing parts and tooling to internal and external depots.
  • Receipting and checking goods, locating and labelling stock, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Creating orders for stores items and managing stock levels.
  • Handling account queries from suppliers, depots, and internal teams.
  • Supporting the stores team with any ad hoc duties as required.
