Overview

We're looking for a forward-thinking Senior SEO Executive to join our digital marketing team during an exciting period of transformation in search. As SEO evolves into the era of Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and AI-powered search experiences, this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of how customers discover Myprotein across traditional search engines and emerging AI platforms. Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) & AI Optimisation (AIO).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the content team to format pages and content for AI summarization and citation
• Implement and optimize structured data and schema markup (reviews, pricing, FAQs, product information)
• Work with AI content tools, particularly Writer, to create content that AI systems can reliably quote and reference
• Monitor brand mentions and product citations in AI-generated responses across platforms
• Ensure content is factual, brand-aligned, and optimised for inclusion in AI training datasets
• Develop strategies to get Myprotein featured on trusted sources that AI systems reference
• Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) & Zero-Click Strategy: Create and optimise FAQ pages and how-to content that directly answers user queries
• Develop "best X for Y" style content targeting AI-generated recommendations
• Optimise content for Google AI Overviews, featured snippets, and voice search results
• Monitor and analyze zero-click search performance and adjust strategies accordingly
• Build content strategies that influence AI recommendations even when users don't click through
• Optimise product detail pages (PDPs) and collection pages for both search visibility and conversion
• Conduct regular technical SEO audits focusing on mobile user experience, site speed, and Core Web Vitals
• Support link-building initiatives within the sports nutrition and fitness industry
• Collaborate with development teams to implement technical SEO improvements
• Ensure fast, mobile-friendly experiences with clear calls-to-action that convert visitors
• Track and report on KPIs across all five SEO pillars using Google Analytics, Search Console, and specialised SEO tools such as semrush
• Analyse how content performs in AI-generated responses and traditional search results
• Develop dashboards to monitor the effectiveness of AI optimization strategies
• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
• Monitor competitor strategies across both traditional SEO and emerging AI optimization
• Strong analytical mindset with experience using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar)

Qualifications

• Technical Skills: Structured data implementation and schema markup; familiarity with AI content tools (Writer or similar platforms highly valued); knowledge of technical SEO principles including site speed optimization, mobile-first indexing, and Core Web Vitals
• Strategic & Communication Skills: Ability to think beyond traditional keyword rankings to AI citation and influence opportunities; strong written communication; ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; problem-solving mindset; understanding of how AI systems consume, process, and cite content
• Industry Knowledge: Interest in or knowledge of the sports nutrition, supplements, and fitness industry; understanding of health and wellness content regulations and compliance; awareness of how to create trustworthy content in the health sector
• Desirable Requirements: Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Computer Science, or related field; previous experience in SEO, content marketing, or digital marketing roles; experience with AI-powered content creation and optimisation; knowledge of conversion rate optimisation (CRO); understanding of international SEO and multi-market optimisation; familiarity with fitness and nutrition trends
