Job summary

A leading education recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Senior Science Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Manchester. You will lead the Science technician team, support teaching staff, and ensure the smooth running of practical science lessons. Ideal candidates will have experience in a similar role, strong health and safety knowledge, and excellent organizational skills. This is a full-time position with a salary of £132.09 per day.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Science Technician in a secondary school.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements in school science labs.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a small team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up experiments for practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, and stock.
  • Support teachers and students during practical activities.
  • Ensure health & safety compliance in all science labs.
  • Train and supervise junior technicians where applicable.

Start Date: 3rd November start

Contract: Full-time, Ongoing

Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00 - 15:30

Pay: £132.09 per day

About the Role

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Senior Science Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the Science technician team, support teaching staff, and ensure the smooth running of practical science lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Prepare and set up experiments for practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, and stock
  • Support teachers and students during practical activities
  • Ensure health & safety compliance in all science labs
  • Train and supervise junior technicians where applicable
