Job description
Overview

Senior Sales Manager to join and lead our field sales team at Marshalls Aggregates & Block Stone. The position is field based, working from your home office with regular travel across the patch. The postcodes you'll cover are DE, DN, HD, LN, NG, S, WF. This is a boots on the ground sales role with management responsibility for a small sales team of two. You will be personally out in the field driving sales and market expansion across the Yorkshire and Lancashire regions, developing and executing a winning sales strategy to exceed targets and build lasting customer relationships.

You will be responsible for the financial performance of your region against agreed targets, developing long-term, mutually beneficial trading relationships with key customers to drive profitable sales and growth for the long term. You will proactively identify and manage opportunities, secure specifications and sales for aggregate products from our Stainton/Maltby Quarry through customer contact both in person and virtually, and promote Marshalls' products & services to support the delivery of national sales targets in line with the business plan. You will engage and establish regular business reviews with identified, strategically significant customers within each assigned region to ensure excellent levels of customer service and ongoing sales.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a small field sales team (2 people).
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to exceed targets and grow market share.
  • Drive sales and market expansion in the Yorkshire and Lancashire regions.
  • Manage the financial performance of the assigned region against targets.
  • Identify and develop opportunities, secure specifications, and sell aggregate products from Stainton/Maltby Quarry through in-person and virtual contact.
  • Promote Marshalls' products & services to support national sales targets.
  • Establish regular business reviews with strategically significant customers to ensure high levels of service and ongoing sales.
Qualifications
  • Aggregate sales experience highly preferred.
  • Strong external/field sales experience in construction.
  • Experience managing and developing a small sales team.
  • Customer-focused with a passion for delivering excellent service.
  • Good understanding of the construction industry.
  • Self-motivated and performance-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build long-term relationships.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for value-added presentations.
  • Field-based role; must have a UK driving licence and live on-patch (DE, DN, HD, LN, NG, S, WF).
