Overview

Senior Risk and Controls Analyst – Location: London – Salary: £60,000 - £65,000. We are recruiting for a Senior Risk and Controls Analyst to join a finance-aligned function within a highly regulated business that is undergoing a significant transformation. This is a second line of defence role with responsibility for strengthening risk management, controls and assurance across the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Design and embed effective internal controls, starting from risk identification through to control design and monitoring

  • Support the development and delivery of risk frameworks and policies that are fit for purpose in a regulated environment

  • Maintain and review risk registers, ensuring risks are captured, assessed and updated in a timely and accurate way

  • Provide oversight and assurance over the control environment, including preparation of regular reports, updates and dashboards for senior stakeholders

  • Contribute to governance forums and support compliance with licence, regulatory and policy requirements

  • Work closely with colleagues across finance, compliance and assurance to ensure consistent standards and strong outcomes

Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in a second line of defence role within risk, compliance or assurance

  • Strong understanding of risk frameworks, internal controls and governance

  • Confident in risk register management and risk reporting

  • Excellent communication skills, able to influence and work with stakeholders at all levels

  • Background in finance, audit or compliance preferred but not essential

  • High level of integrity with the ability to operate independently while building effective working relationships

  • Comfortable working 3 days per week in the office
