Job summary

A local children's service provider in Tameside is seeking a Senior Residential Child Care Worker to provide 24-hour care for young people with complex needs. This role involves training staff and managing the service in the absence of the manager. Candidates must have NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People. Evening and day shifts with a flexible rota are expected.

Salary: Grade G. Scale 23 - £34,434 to Scale 28 - £39,152


Hours Per Week: 36 hours


Base Location: Children’s Home, Denton


Assessment Date: To be arranged

We are looking for a Senior Residential Child Care Worker, who will work as part of a team providing 24 hour care within the Children’s Residential Services for Looked After Children. You will be working in a busy Children’s Home caring for young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.


Hours of work are evening and day shifts as part of a flexible working rota and sleep in duties. You will be expected to train and supervise staff under the direction of the manager and be able to manage the building in the manager’s absence.



About You

You must be committed to a comprehensive Induction and Training Programme and will be expected to be qualified in NVQ 3 Level in Caring for Children and Young People or equivalent award.
