We'd like you to join us as a Senior Support Worker at our Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Nottingham.
At Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre, we offer rehabilitation, care, and support to people with a brain injury or other neurological condition. We’re committed to helping every person we support feel safe, happy, empowered, enabling them to live the best life possible.
We provide a psychology-led multidisciplinary treatment model to deliver a high-quality, specialist service for people who have a neuro disability or acquired brain injury.
What you'll be working:
- Full time
- 38.5hrs per week
- Days and nights flexible
- Weekend working on a rota
- We are hiring for 8 Senior Support Workers
What you'll be doing:
- Support individual service user needs in accordance with the Person-Centered Plan (PCP).
- Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in care delivery, communication, and professional conduct.
- Supervise and guide support workers during shifts, providing on-the-job coaching, feedback, and support.
- Act as the primary point of contact during shifts for support workers, managing incidents, queries, or emergencies.
- Assist in regular audits of documentation, medication, and care procedures under management guidance.
- Administer medication in line with training and protocols (Hazelwood Unit Only).
- Assist with personal and intimate care, including bathing, dressing, hair/nail care, eating, waste disposal, dental hygiene, toileting, stomas/PEG feeds.
- Support service users with physical disabilities using trained techniques and aids.
- Promote confidentiality and act as a representative when liaising with external stakeholders.
- Be assigned as a key worker for service users.
- Ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Operate in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain flexibility in working patterns, including working across sites, additional hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Attend and complete mandatory training.
What you'll have:
- Numeracy and literacy Level 2
- Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to undertake
- Proven support experience
- Strong communication, compassion, teamwork, confidence, IT skills, and reliability
- Competencies: Service user focus, learning and development, health and safety, managing and planning, team work, communication, medical knowledge
