A leading healthcare provider in Birkenhead is seeking a dedicated Senior Radiographer to work within the IR/Cath Lab. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work autonomously, and support for junior staff. Candidates must have a BSc in Radiography, HCPC Registration, and experience as a band 5 or above. The position involves participation in a 24/7 service and contribution to the development of radiographic staff.
We are looking to recruit dedicated radiographer to work within the plain imaging department across all WUTH sites (Arrowe Park, Clatterbridge, St Catherine's and Victoria Central Hospitals). This staff member will have a specialist interest in IR/Cath Lab and will be trained to cover both areas and participate in the OOH service for both plain imaging and IR/C.Lab
We are seeking a dynamic individual who has the ability to successfully engage with a broad range of teams, disciplines and staff. We actively encourage our band 6 Radiographers to engage with extra responsibilities e.g. RPS, H+S links, safeguarding and QSI champions.
The Trust has a wide variety of services including Trauma, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Women's and Children's, medicine and cancer services.
As a department we support CPD, advance practice and training and development of our Radiographers, we are also embarking on QSI accreditation.
Successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the 24/7 service delivery of both plain film, IR and CL and part-take in the IR on-call rota.
Successful candidate for our band 6 IR/CL role will work within IR /CL, with some rotation through ED, MSK clinics, GP clinics IP/OP's, theatres, dentals and provide and portable service to wards and critical care departments.
When working within plain film, you will act as senior and as a co-ordinator to ensure effective and efficient running of the service to meet the demand and be responsible for facilitating any changes to improve the service.
You will report to the Principal Radiographer's for Plain Imaging and IR/CL and liaise with them on a regular basis, escalating any issues and problems, and devising and implementing solutions.
You need to have excellent communication with stakeholders both internal and external to ensure the service meets the varying demands.
You will be responsible for the training and development of the radiographic staff and contributing to their CPD.
You will participate in the QA programme for the plain imaging service.
At APH we have 1 IR suite and 1 Cath Lab, 5 DR rooms including whole spine leg length limb examinations, 1 CR room, 1 dental suite, 3 mobile II's, 1 fluoro room and 6 DR mobile machines.
You will be incorporated into the IR on call service running 24/7.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing a DBS application is met by the successful applicant/s. DBS costs are recovered via salary deduction following starting in post.
If the post you are applying for requires a DBS - Inline with Trust policy the cost of submitting and processing a DBS for successful applications would be met by the individual themselves. The amount would vary depending on the level required: Standard Disclosure £21.50+£6.50 or Enhanced Disclosure £49.50+£6.50 (please be aware the additional sum is an administration fee and may increase due to inflation). This will be deducted from your salary, in manageable monthly instalments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment.
