About the role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the effective management of all cost-related aspects of signalling projects, from initial estimates through to final accounts. The role focuses on optimising project expenditure and delivering best value, while ensuring compliance with all required standards and quality benchmarks.

What you'll be doing

Oversee cost planning, forecasting, and control throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensure accurate preparation and management of budgets, valuations, and final accounts.

Drive value engineering initiatives to maximise efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Maintain compliance with contractual, statutory, and quality requirements.

Lead and manage a small team of junior commercial staff, providing guidance and support.

Mentor and develop team members on their pathway to professional qualification.

Who we're looking for

Ideally a Chartered Membership of RICS, ICES, or CIOB (or working towards).

Rail Industry experience would be highly beneficial, however experience gained within other industries such as Construction, M&E, Engineering etc will also be considered.

Proven track record in cost/Budget & Change management

Proven Contract Management & Sub-Contractor Management experience

Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring.

Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
