Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a National Grid substation project in Birmingham. The role offers a hybrid setup with 3 days on-site work. Candidates should have proven experience as a Senior QS, strong knowledge of NEC (4), and previous experience with Tier 1 contractors on relevant projects. The contract is initially for 6 months, inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Senior QS in project setting.
• Strong NEC (4) knowledge.
• Experience with Tier 1 contractor.
• Experience on OHL/substations/utilities/nuclear/water projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage cost forecasting, cost capture, and programme alignment.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
• Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies.
• Perform risk, value management, and cost control.
• Identify and develop responses to commercial risks.
• Prepare and analyse costings for tenders.

Overview

One of our clients needs a Senior Quantity Surveyor to assist on a National Grid substation project in Birmingham.

Set up

• ASAP start
• 6-month initial contract
• Working on National Grid substation project
• Hybrid role – 3 days on site
• Inside IR35

Responsibilities

• Manage cost forecasting, cost capture, and programme alignment
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client
• Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
• Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies
• Perform risk, value management, and cost control
• Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks
• Prepare and analyse costings for tenders

Client requirements / Qualifications

• Proven experience as Senior QS in project setting
• Strong NEC (4) knowledge
• Previously worked for Tier 1 contractor
• Previously worked on relevant projects – OHL/substations/utilities/nuclear/water etc
• Proven experience as Senior QS
