Job description
Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Psychologist to join our integrated Mental Healthcare team at HMP Onley, a category C training prison, and HMP Rye Hill, category B prison, based in Rugby, Northamptonshire. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop a full Psychology service working alongside the integrated mental health team. The successful applicant will clinically supervise 2 Assistant Psychologists and work with patients who have a broad range of complex presentations. The role would suit an experienced Psychologist familiar with working with adult mental health presentations, neurodiversity and complex trauma. Suitable applicants must be familiar with trauma informed approaches and enjoy working as part of a team.

Hours

Monday to Friday 9am-5pm; 2.5 days at each site in the same geographical location. We are able to offer flexibility with working hours.

Salary

This is a full-time role offering up to £66,000 per annum – depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a qualified, HCPC registered Psychologist, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Offer clinical support and oversight to the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) in the form of training, supervision and reflective practice
  • Undertake psychological assessments and support complex multi-disciplinary formulations
  • Deliver and oversee the delivery of 1:1 psychological interventions and group interventions as part of the Trauma Informed "Making Sense" Programme
  • Deliver teaching and training to healthcare and prison staff where required
  • Contribute to the development of audit, service evaluation and research profile as appropriate
