Job description

A client within the Public Sector based in Cheshire is currently recruiting for a Senior Surveyor (Commercial Property Manager) to join their Engineering and Surveying Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a property and estates management environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to manage and provide professional advice on a varied commercial property portfolio, ensuring the effective management of the Council's assets and maximising income generation opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Managing a portfolio of commercial properties, including landlord and tenant matters, lease renewals, rent reviews and service charges.
  • Undertaking property inspections, valuations, acquisitions, and disposals.
  • Providing professional advice on estate management, asset optimisation and investment opportunities.
  • Preparing reports and presenting recommendations to senior management and committees.
  • Carrying out site visits and inspections as required.
  • Working closely with internal departments and external stakeholders to deliver the Council's property strategy.
The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require:

  • A degree in a property-related discipline and professional membership such as MRICS.
  • Demonstrable experience in commercial property management, including landlord & tenant, valuations, and estates work.
Skills & Benefits
  • Strong negotiation and tenant liaison skills.
  • Experience in report writing and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • IT literacy, with the ability to use property management and office software effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (mileage paid).

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £40 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £30-£32 per hour PAYE).
