Senior Personal Injury Claims Handler - Bradford (Hybrid Working)

An excellent new opportunity has arisen as Senior Personal Injury Claims Handler which is to work with a one the UK’s leading law firms.

Working from their Bradford operation, which is ideally situated near the train station.

They are seeking a full-time Senior Claims Handler to join our busy team defending pre-litigation personal injury claims. Applicants should possess 5 years+ experience in an EL/PL claims handling role, ideally with experience of handling retail claims, and be able to hit the ground running. Excellent communication, a strong analytical mindset and a methodological approach are a must, along with sound IT skills and the ability to build strong relationships.

Hybrid working would also be supported.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the advice and guidance of your supervisor, the main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability and experience to handle complex and high value claims (not catastrophic).
  • Ability to use the MOJ EL/PL Portal.
  • Deal with opponents, experts, statutory bodies and client by e-mail, telephone and in writing.
  • Negotiate on issues of liability and quantum.
  • Pursue recovery of client’s losses, where appropriate, from third parties
  • Maintain accurate financial / reserve / risk management information on all claims
  • Comply with internal, client and procedural protocols
  • Ensure that personal objectives are reviewed and met.
  • Develop a good relationship with existing and potential clients ensuring that a high standard of client care in exercised at all times.
  • Provide good customer service to litigants in person.
  • Ensure that relevant training is carried out and keep up to date with relevant legislation and practice.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with SRA/Law Society Regulations.

This role has arisen due to someone retiring in the business, and you will lead the team and assist less experienced members within the team.

Basic salary is dependent on experience and up to £50K, plus excellent benefits including pension, private medical insurance, life insurance.
