Job summary

A leading technology service provider in Sheffield is seeking an experienced OpenShift Sr Engineer for a 12-month hybrid contract. You will design and build OpenShift cluster architectures, optimize environments, and integrate with enterprise systems. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, solid Linux skills, and familiarity with automation tools. This role requires a blend of onsite and remote work (3 days per week onsite). Competitive rate of £463 per day inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes engineering, including cluster installation and upgrades.
• Proficiency in Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (CNI, ingress, load balancers) and storage integration.
• Experience with containerization technologies and orchestration best practices.
• Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and build OpenShift cluster architectures to support VMware workload migration.
• Perform cluster installation, upgrades, and configuration to ensure stability and scalability.
• Integrate OpenShift with enterprise systems, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.
• Implement networking components including CNI plugins, ingress controllers, and load balancers.
• Configure and manage storage integration for persistent workloads.
• Develop automation scripts and templates for cluster provisioning and lifecycle management.
