It’s a diverse and vibrant area full of community spirit and local pride. Our multiplatform newsroom needs a dynamic leader with a great understanding of the area to oversee our daily editorial. We are looking for a Senior News Editor to lead our news output across all platforms. This role oversees our news operation across Online, TV, radio, on demand and social and is responsible for guiding the team to meet annual audience targets. The Senior News Editor is based primarily in Hull and works to the Senior Head of the Yorkshire & Lincs region, Katrina Bunker. They oversee a large team of journalists and producers working in our bases and out in our communities in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire to deliver high quality content and engaging journalism.
This is a pivotal leadership role with a creative and dedicated team. Our online growth over the last couple of years has been exceptional and our flagship 1830 programme is one of the most distinctive and popular in England.
We have spent the last two years transforming our services to make them fit for the future. However, wherever licence fee payers consume us, live or on demand, we want to be there for them with the objective we reach at least 50% of audiences across the region every single week.
