Job summary

Qualifications

  • Degree in a STEM subject including Naval Architecture; and ideally experience in a naval or maritime discipline.
  • Strong communication skills, able to analyse complex problems and present conclusions confidently and clearly, orally and in writing.
  • Experience in numerical simulation would be highly advantageous.
  • Self‑motivation should be evident as you will need to quickly perform at a high level.
  • Excellent engineering computer skills are essential.
  • Great collaboration skills to be able to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Engaging with customers to understand requirements, develop approaches, inform progress and present outputs.
  • Working independently or as part of a small team to simulate and analyse naval scenarios.
  • Developing approaches for assessing simulation data and extracting key observations.
  • Writing technical reports and presentations to explain conclusions.
  • Developing fast-running engineering models from trials and complex numerical simulations.
