Overview

Senior Mechanical Engineer. Lead the future of sustainable building services design. An established, forward-thinking building services consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of innovative mechanical design projects, work closely with multidisciplinary teams, and help deliver cutting-edge sustainable building solutions across the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical design from concept to completion across a variety of building projects.
  • Prepare and review design packages, including drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Undertake detailed calculations, modelling, and performance analysis for energy-efficient solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate effectively with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Carry out site inspections and attend project and client meetings.
  • Support the development of junior engineers through mentoring and technical guidance.
What you\'ll need to succeed
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
  • At least 4-5 years\' experience in mechanical/building services design.
  • Strong technical expertise in HVAC design, thermodynamics, and sustainability principles.
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Excel.
  • Good understanding of CDM regulations and low-carbon design approaches.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with proven leadership experience.
