Senior Mechanical Engineer

Department: Mechanical & Electrical Design

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Brierley Hill

Compensation: £35,000 - £45,000 / year

About the role: The successful candidate will work as part of the mechanical design team to deliver projects from feasibility through to construction (RIBA Stages 1-6).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, specifications, and construction stage project management of mechanical projects (all aspects of Mechanical Services), covering all RIBA stages.
• Manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ensure all projects meet British Standards, CIBSE Guides to Good Practice, and other relevant legislation.
• Conduct Mechanical Services Feasibility Studies and Energy Efficiency Reports.
• Attend project meetings and regular Design Department meetings for workload planning.
• Develop strong relationships with team members.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

Essential Skills:

• Ability to manage and prioritize workload to meet deadlines while maintaining good communication with clients and design teams.
• Project leadership and client-facing experience.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of industry regulations, mechanical design, and installations.
• Understanding of electrical services.

Knowledge & Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of utility services, both new connections and disconnections.
• Project management experience in building service projects.
• ONC/HNC in building services engineering or equivalent professional qualifications.

Experience

• Experience in mechanical engineering, engineering consultancy, and/or mechanical installations.
• Proficiency with design calculation software such as AutoCAD & IES.
• Experience with renewable technologies and systems.
• Experience with design calculation software like Design Builder, Cymap, BIM projects, and Revit.
