Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer – Edinburgh – Permanent

An opportunity to work with a robotics organisation on an ambitious journey. They are developing technology that will help clear up the world we live in and save a vast amount of time and resources. This role allows you to take ownership of the mechanical design aspects in the company and make a tangible impact by helping develop a repeatable product rather than a one-off solution.

Responsibilities
  • Own mechanical design across the product lifecycle to enable a repeatable and scalable solution.
  • Collaborate to ensure design for manufacture considerations are integrated, with a good understanding of the manufacturing process.
  • Engage with robotics or FMCG contexts; experience with special purpose machinery is also relevant.
  • Be prepared to work in a start-up environment and tackle a variety of problems.
  • Experience with CE marking and regulatory considerations relevant to the product.
Qualifications
  • Mechanical design experience, ideally across the full life cycle.
  • Design for manufacture and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Robotics or FMCG background preferred; interest in special purpose machinery.
  • Willingness to work in a start-up environment and handle diverse challenges.
  • Experience with CE marking.
Working Arrangements

Due to the hands-on nature of the role, you'll be in the office more often than not. There is flexibility, with a day or two from home each week being the norm.
