Overview

Senior Management Accountant role in the Financial Management team at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The post provides high level financial information and advisory support to Clinical Services. The Financial Management Team delivers accurate financial information and advice to help divisions make the best decisions for the Trust. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and an interest in investigating and solving problems using various information sources and systems. Experience supporting a clinical function is desirable, but a strong understanding of financial management is essential.

Main duties

Work closely with finance and clinical/operational teams to provide financial advice and support as part of an innovative finance team. Ensure expenditure and income are accurately apportioned and recorded, provide financial support (face to face and online) to budget managers to achieve planned performance, support the budget setting cycle, and identify, analyse and investigate complex financial queries and discrepancies.

The post holder will be required:

  • To provide a comprehensive, professional management accounting service within Hampshire and IOW Healthcare NHS FT.
  • To assist the Finance directorate in the overall reconciliation of the Trust\'s income and expenditure position, and the production of the Trust\'s finance and performance reports.
  • To assist the Finance directorate in the overall Trust financial planning process including completion of the NHSE Annual Plan template in relation to income and expenditure.

While a specific division may be allocated, reporting structures may change in the normal course of business. The post holder should be flexible about potential changes to reporting lines.

We are open to flexible working arrangements; discussions can be held as part of the interview process. The role involves hybrid remote/office working with a minimum of 2 days per week spent in one of the Trust\'s core office locations: Tatchbury Mount (Calmore), the Isle of Wight (St Marys or other agreed base), or Fort Southwick, as agreed with the Line Manager.
