A prominent healthcare provider in Manchester seeks a Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Urology for a 12-month fellowship starting February 2026. The successful candidate will engage in urological surgery, participate in assessments, and drive clinical research. Ideal candidates will have broad experience, including GMC registration and qualifications such as MB.ChB. This role offers professional development and the chance to work at major hospitals. The post will allow skill enhancement in various specialist areas of urology while contributing to patient care.

Applications are invited for the position of Senior Clinical Fellow - Urology. It is tenable for 12 months in the first instance.
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust wishes to recruit at least one senior clinical fellow to commence in February 2026, for 12 months. Further extension may be possible and is dependent on satisfactory progress and appraisal.
The post provides invaluable experience in general and specialist urological services in one of the largest urology departments in the UK. The successful candidate will be based at Manchester Royal Infirmary but may also have the opportunity of working at North Manchester General Hospital and Trafford General Hospital. The successful candidate will participate in the Urology middle grade on‑call rota which is currently 1 in 10.

All candidates will be supported to engage in audit, clinical research, presentation and publication of their work on a local, national, and international level.
The post holder will be involved in the assessment, investigation and treatment of urological patients in the outpatient department and will also assist and operate on patients within theatres alongside the consultant as well as being involved in ward rounds, supervising Foundation Doctors, seeing patients in accident and emergency and the emergency care of urological patients.
Experience will be gained in a wide range of core urological procedures, including cystoscopy, transperineal prostate biopsy, as well as exposure to specialist urology interventions including urethral reconstructions, urodynamics and female urology, andrology, endourology including laparascopic and percutaneous surgery as well as urological oncology. The on‑call commitment for this post is a 1:10 on‑call (ST3+ level) with prospective cover.
This post does not carry Deanery educational and training approval; however the trust has recently developed an education and training contract, which outlines the trust's commitment to each junior doctor. There will be educational supervision, an agreed learning plan and appropriate support. There will be provision for successful candidates to attend appropriate urological training courses.
