Job description

Energy production business building a world-class, diversified portfolio of international assets in gas-to-power markets has created a new position for a Senior Legal Counsel. This position can be based remotely with occasional travel to London and abroad.

Responsibilities:
  1. Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing all commercial contracts.
  2. Assisting on M&A activity.
  3. Supporting the Governance and Compliance programmes.
  4. Supporting with Company Secretarial duties.
  5. Advising on disputes, data protection, and employment law issues.
We are looking for:
  • Qualified UK or other common law jurisdiction lawyer with 6-10 years’ experience advising on corporate or commercial matters.
  • In-house experience (possibly in an industrial, energy, oil & gas, manufacturing environment) would be a bonus.
  • Experience operating with or in emerging markets, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa (both francophone and English speaking), would be advantageous.
  • Excellent people leadership skills, fostering relationships and promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong intellect, commercial acumen, and excellent judgment and analytical skills. Comfortable negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Ability to distil complex issues into actionable solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to handle detailed information and deliver clear messages in writing and verbally.
  • Pragmatic, balanced approach to risk management.
  • Culturally adaptable, resilient, calm under pressure, enthusiastic, with a good sense of humor.
