A leading Liverpool based law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to ensure the smooth running of their department. You will be responsible for financial transactions, billing, and compliance with Solicitors' Accounts Rules. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in legal cashiering, excellent IT skills, and the ability to manage queries effectively. Qualifications

  • Experience in a busy law firm is essential.
  • Knowledge of compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules is critical.
  • Experience in development/testing of legal accounting software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with file handling departments regarding accounting transactions.
  • Assist in processing client and office account transactions.
  • Provide guidance to team members on complex queries.
  • Ensure compliance with Solicitors' Accounts Rules.
  • Reconcile supplier statements as required.

Job description

Due to continued growth a vacancy has arisen for an experienced Legal Chashier with an industry leading Liverpool based Law Firm.

As an experienced Cashier, you will help other legal cashiers in the team to ensure the smooth and effective running of the department. You will be the focal contact for billing and client ledger queries, ensuring the firm's financial transactions are accurate and in accordance with Solicitors Accounts Rules.

What you will be doing
  • Liaising with file handling departments regarding accounting transactions and dealing with any queries that may arise in a timely manner.
  • Assisting the processing of client and office account transactions, with reference to billing.
  • Providing guidance to team members as necessary and acting as point of contact for any complex queries.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules within the team.
  • Reconciliation of disbursement supplier statements as required.
  • Other duties as may be required by the firm.
About you
  • Solid experience in working as a legal cashier within a busy law firm.
  • Up to date knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules and compliance.
  • Highly proficient IT skills, especially Excel and legal accounting software.
  • Friendly and approachable and have the confidence and ability to communicate at senior levels, and to liaise with all parties both internal and external.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong sense of responsibility.
  • Have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Related qualification an advantage.
  • Development / testing of legal accounting software an advantage.
