Salary: 26,402 - 28,361 per annum (actual gross salary), depending on the position

  • Senior LSA - 26,402 per annum (actual gross salary) Scale 4
  • HLTA - 28,361 per annum Scale 5 - must have HLTA qualification

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Senior LSA Role

As a Senior LSA in our SEND department, you will support the learning of individual students and small groups in class and oversee learning across specific activities under the guidance of a Teacher.

You will also lead small group withdrawal interventions such as Catch-up literacy, Catch-up Numeracy, ELSA, Nurture or EBSA, developing schemes of learning and methods of assessment to demonstrate progress that meet the needs of students.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Role

As a HLTA in our SEND department you will work directly with students who have specific learning needs and/or who have high levels of anxiety about school and lessons.

You will be a key worker to specific students and will liaise directly with the SENCO, the school's mental health lead and other professionals, attending any relevant meetings.

You will also assist teachers in the planning, delivery and evaluation of whole class/small group activities across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 as required.

About you

For these senior roles you will need to be an LSA who is experienced in working with SEND students and those with an EHCP and be aware of best practice in teaching less able learners and those with specific learning needs.

Experience or qualifications working in one or more of the following specialist areas: autism, dyslexia, EBSA, numeracy or literacy support programmes, is highly desirable.
