Job description

A leading international offshore law firm is seeking a Senior Counsel to join its expanding Insolvency & Dispute Resolution (IDR) practice in Jersey. This is a high-profile role within a globally integrated platform, offering the opportunity to work alongside respected litigators as the firm continues its strategic growth across the Channel Islands.

The position will suit a technically strong litigator with significant experience across contentious financial services matters, including trust disputes, corporate insolvency, shareholder actions, and cross-border commercial litigation. Applicants should be confident handling complex cases independently while contributing to the wider growth of the IDR practice through business development, know-how, and mentoring.

The successful candidate will advise a broad client base, including financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, directors, trustees, and corporate clients, and will play a key role in managing high-value, multi-jurisdictional disputes before the Jersey Courts.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years' PQE with strong experience in commercial litigation, insolvency, and/or trust disputes
  • Background in a recognised offshore or international disputes practice
  • Strong academic credentials and commercial awareness
  • Excellent drafting, advocacy, and client-facing skills
  • Jersey experience preferred; offshore or common law backgrounds also considered

This is a rare opportunity to play a leadership role in a dynamic, growing team while benefiting from a collaborative and forward-thinking international firm culture.
