Senior In vivo Scientist (Imaging) - Drug Development

Location - Cheshire

Sector - Drug Discovery

Salary - £43K - £48.5K depending on experience and interview performance

Contract - Full-time, 12 month fixed term contract.

Our client is a leading company, offering research services to the Drug Discovery sector. They collaborate with lead researchers and organisations to enhance the understanding of immunological, oncological, neurological and other disease areas. Based in Alderley Park, they are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join their pre‑clinical imaging team as a Scientist, initially on a 12 month contract basis. The Role

This is a role for in vivo Scientists who have significant experience of imaging techniques such as PET, IVIS and ultrasound. As an In vivo imaging Scientist, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing in vivo experiments for biodistribution studies. You’ll use existing skills in dosing, anaesthetics, post‑operation welfare checks, specimen and tissue collections.
  • Conducting in vivo imaging work using techniques such as IVIS, PET, ultrasound.
  • Working on complex drug discovery projects with various modalities (small molecule, complex molecules, nanoparticles etc).
  • Supporting the design and set up of experiments of other team members.
  • Maintaining an up to date and accurate record of experiments.
  • Problem solving and implementing solutions relating to in vivo studies.
  • Communicating across various departments and with colleagues.
Skills and Experience Needed
  • A PhD in in vivo biology and imaging, with post‑doctoral (academic or industrial) experience. MSc or BSc backgrounds with significant in vivo imaging experience would also be welcomed (essential).
  • Significant experience of pre‑clinical, in‑vivo model use (essential).
  • Holder of Home Office PIL ABC licence. (A,B essential, C desired).
  • Skills within common dosing routes, tumour and tissue sample collection (essential).
  • Previous in vivo imaging experience in one or more of the following: IVIS, MRI, PET, Ultrasound (essential).
  • Experience in working with open bench radioactivity (desired).
  • Good communication and problem‑solving skills. (essential).
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously (essential).
