A leading national contractor is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Manager for a major £100m project in Bristol linked to rail infrastructure upgrades. Key responsibilities include supervising advisors, ensuring compliance, and preparing reports. Candidates must have a NEBOSH General Certificate and experience in the infrastructure sector. This role requires travel to the Bristol site three days a week.

Salary: 80,000 – 85,000 basic
Package: Car or Car allowance, Bonus, Private Medical, Pension

This is a great opportunity to work for a Tier 1 National main contractor, working in the Infrastructure sector, delivering a major project for the next 3 years in the Bristol region.
Due to an increase in project awards, they need an additional leader to join the team to manage a major project across 2x different sites, with, additional Health and Safety advisors working for you. This role reports into the Head of Health and Safety for the Rail division.
Your duties will vary but could include:
Supervise, support and guide all Health and Safety advisors.
Ensure that safety systems and plans meet the relevant safety standards.
Ensure that safety issues are discussed at project review meetings.
Advise and guide all relevant personnel in setting up and maintaining safety systems.
Keep clear records to comply with company's internal audit standards.
Communicate and promote the health and safety management ethos and concepts.
Deliver training for the project and supporting sub–contractors on your site.
Ensure that project is working to the relevant statutory health and safety documentation.
Prepare of monthly report and submit in agreed format.
Carry out site safety inspections.
This background is open to someone looking to move into the Rail sector. As long as you have worked for a Tier 1 contractor / directly for the client and are experienced in handling large schemes with multiple sub–contractors on site.
