Job description
Overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our WTWA finance team for 18 months. The post holder will be based at Wythenshawe Hospital supporting the Respiratory Division at this challenging, but exciting time. If successful, you will be a key member of our Senior Finance Leadership Team with responsibility for using your financial and business acumen to support the division to develop, as well as supporting the overall financial strategy.

This is your opportunity to make a real difference and support the development of a complex and growing clinical division, which won the 2025 HFMA Award for Addressing Healthcare Inequalities through NHS Finance Action, for its work on the development of the Targeted Lung Health Check programme. You will report into the Deputy Director of Finance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide financial leadership to the Divisions, sharing alongside the Clinical Directors and Divisional Directors responsibility for the overall financial management and performance of the Divisions.
  • Ensure the production of relevant, accurate and timely financial advice and supporting information to support the Divisions to achieve their agreed financial plan.
  • Lead on all strategic and operational finance for the division while delivering high-level financial expertise to influence decisions.
  • Be the finance lead in the Divisional performance management structure and work closely with the Clinical Directors and Directorate Managers to ensure delivery of Directorate objectives.
  • Work as part of the Divisional teams to ensure that Trust objectives are met, including their Financial Statutory obligations.
  • Increase the level of business expertise within the Divisions and support the Clinical Directors in all financial matters.
  • Be a key member of the WTWA Finance Department and contribute to the delivery of its overall objectives.
  • Lead and develop the Divisional Finance Team of three staff.
  • Work as part of a team whose objectives include meeting operational targets while enhancing the quality of care to patients.
  • Deputise for the Deputy Director of Finance where appropriate.
