Job description
What to Expect

As Finance Transformation Senior Analyst, you will support the delivery of strategic change initiatives across the finance function. Working under the guidance of the Finance Transformation Manager, you will contribute to projects that improve the efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of finance operations, with a particular focus on digitalisation, process optimisation, and supporting integration across the newly combined McLaren Group.

This role offers a hands‑on opportunity to develop your analytical, technical, and project support skills while gaining exposure to transformation programmes that shape the future of finance. You will work closely with finance teams and cross‑functional stakeholders to help identify improvement opportunities, support implementation activities, and contribute to the evolution of the finance operating model.

What You'll Do
  • Assist in the execution of finance transformation initiatives, supporting the Finance Transformation Manager with project planning, coordination, and delivery. This includes preparing project documentation, tracking progress, and helping to ensure milestones are met.
  • Contribute to integration efforts across the McLaren Group, helping to align finance processes, systems, and reporting structures across multiple entities. Support data gathering, process harmonisation, and documentation to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Support process mapping and analysis, working with stakeholders to document current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and propose improvements. Use tools such as Visio to visualise processes and support redesign efforts.
  • Help prepare business cases, presentations, and reports, synthesising data and insights to support decision‑making. Assist in creating materials for project updates, steering committees, and stakeholder communications.
  • Conduct data analysis to support transformation objectives, including identifying trends, measuring performance, and tracking benefits realisation. Use Excel, Power BI, or similar tools to build dashboards and visualisations.
  • Assist in testing and implementation of new systems or process changes, including preparing test scripts, conducting user acceptance testing (UAT), and supporting end‑user training and onboarding.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date project documentation, including action logs, risk registers, and status reports. Ensure governance standards are followed and documentation is accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Finance, IT, and other business functions to gather requirements, support workshops, and ensure alignment across departments. Act as a liaison between technical teams and finance users to support successful delivery.
  • Contribute to change management activities, helping to develop training materials, communications, and feedback mechanisms that support adoption of new processes and systems. Participate in stakeholder engagement efforts to build awareness and readiness.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, conducting research and sharing insights that may inform future transformation opportunities. Support benchmarking and best practice reviews.
  • Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, actively contributing ideas and feedback to enhance finance operations. Encourage the use of digital tools and new ways of working to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
What You'll Bring
  • Experience supporting finance transformation, process improvement, or systems implementation within a finance function.
  • Good understanding of core finance operations and processes (e.g. P2P, O2C, R2R), and familiarity with financial controls.
  • Exposure to ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Experience working on cross‑functional projects, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, IT, and other business areas.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools, with the ability to build reports and dashboards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and professionally.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
  • Analytical and detail‑oriented – able to work with complex data and processes, ensuring accuracy and quality in all outputs.
  • Proactive and self‑motivated – takes ownership of tasks and seeks opportunities to add value without needing close supervision.
  • Effective communicator – able to present ideas clearly and confidently, both in writing and verbally, to a range of stakeholders.
  • Collaborative and team‑oriented – works well with others, contributing positively to team dynamics and cross‑functional projects.
  • Adaptable and resilient – comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and able to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Curious and improvement‑focused – keen to learn, explore new technologies, and suggest better ways of working.
  • Commercially aware – understands how finance supports broader business objectives and contributes to organisational success.
  • Organised and dependable – able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively, with a structured and reliable approach.
  • Professional and trustworthy – demonstrates integrity, discretion, and accountability in all interactions and responsibilities.
