Job description
Overview

We're looking for a passionate and skilled Senior Family Support Worker to join our integrated Family Support and Safeguarding Service. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to children, young people, and families across the city.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions that safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
  • Lead on assessments, creating and coordinating multi-agency support plans.
  • Act as lead professional for a varied caseload, ensuring families receive the right help at the right time.
  • Chair case planning and review meetings, providing high-quality advice and guidance.
  • Champion a specialist area (e.g. domestic abuse, substance misuse, parenting, or disability), sharing knowledge and delivering workshops to colleagues.
  • Work in partnership with statutory and non-statutory agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • GCSE education plus an NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in a related field.
  • Experience of working directly with children, young people, and families, delivering evidence-based support.
  • Strong skills in assessing needs, creating support plans, and managing complex caseloads.
  • The ability to chair meetings, analyse information, and work collaboratively with partners.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and excellent customer care.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including some out-of-hours work, and undertake relevant training.
