Job Description

We are seeking Senior Environmental Consultants to support the delivery of major infrastructure programmes across highly regulated sectors, including transport, energy, water, and nuclear. These roles sit within the Environmental Services discipline and involve providing technical leadership, project delivery, and assurance across a range of environmental specialisms.

These are pipeline opportunities to support new projects commencing in the New Year, with roles anticipated across multiple UK regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver environmental services inputs across complex infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, and best practice.
  • Provide technical leadership within one or more environmental disciplines (e.g. environmental management, EIA coordination, consents, ecology, acoustics, or water/hydrogeology).
  • Manage and coordinate environmental work packages, delivering high-quality outputs to time, cost, and quality.
  • Support project teams in identifying environmental risks, constraints, and opportunities, and developing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Review, assure, and approve environmental documentation and technical deliverables.
  • Interface with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders to support effective environmental management and decision‑making.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience working as an environmental consultant within regulated infrastructure environments.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, policy, and assessment processes relevant to major projects.
  • Ability to lead technical delivery and provide clear, pragmatic advice to project teams and clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing and reviewing technical reports.
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to multi‑disciplinary project teams.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body (e.g. IEMA, CIEEM, IES).
  • Experience leading environmental inputs on large or complex infrastructure programmes.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff or leading small technical teams.
