Job summary

A leading aerospace and defence organisation in Glasgow is looking for a Senior Engineer to integrate the CH-148 Cyclone helicopter system within the Canadian Surface Combatant programme. This hybrid role involves producing layout drawings and updating design data in Windchill PLM. A successful candidate will have experience in naval aviation systems and preferably with CAD software like AutoCAD. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of £45.95 inside IR35.

Responsibilities

Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for Senior Engineer Stage 1 to add to their talented, hardworking team in Glasgow (visits to site every 3 months) on an initial 12 months contract. Striving for innovation and creativity you can ensure no two days will be the same.

£45.95 per hour inside IR35 / Umbrella per hour

Role responsibilities

• Senior Engineer for the integration of the CH-148 Cyclone helicopter system within the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) programme. Covering all aspects of the operational, functional and physical/engineering for the helicopter, accountable to the responsible engineer and interacting with the client/supply chain.
• Produce Layout Drawings for Aviation compartments for review by stakeholders and to allow Stage 2 to correctly model these spaces.
• Update Windchill PLM with mature parts, systems, occurrences and compartment data to ensure it correctly presents the baseline design.

Skills and qualifications

• To succeed within this role, you\'ll have experience in a similar position, and you\'ll ideally have the following skills:
• The role holder will require knowledge and experience of naval and / or commercial ship Aviation systems with the experience to support system and spatial integration issues with other disciplines.
• Aviation includes the design integration of: the Aircraft Handling System
• design or modification of Aviation services and compartments
• development of the Aviation safety case and development of contractual documents.
• Experience with Ship aviation design is desirable.
• Experience with CAD software like AutoCAD or FORAN is desirable.
