Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electronics Test Engineer (Automated Test) to join Red Bull Powertrains. In our brand-new purpose-built electronics facility, we have the tools required to develop new technologies, deliver exciting research projects, and support our dynamic team of engineers, ensuring they flourish and achieve their goals.

In this Electrical Engineer role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automated test systems to analyze data, identify potential failure modes, and improve overall reliability.

Key responsibilities:

  • Creating and updating test procedures for electronic components
  • Developing test system hardware
  • Developing test software in LabVIEW and TestStand
  • Testing electronic components
  • Data analysis and fault investigation
  • Preparing risk assessments and following safety procedures

Requirements:

  • Electronics or Software Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
  • Experience developing test systems for electronic components
  • Experience with LabVIEW and TestStand for test sequence development
  • Knowledge of electronic systems, PCBs, and electronic components
  • Familiarity with ESD protection measures
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, and SPI
  • Experience with laboratory equipment like oscilloscopes, electronic loads, thermal cameras, etc.
  • Experience with National Instruments equipment
  • Track record of fault investigation, containment, and rectification

Preferred additional skills:

  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for data analysis and simulation
  • Advanced data analysis skills
  • Certified LabVIEW/TestStand Developer or Architect
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python and C++
  • Electronics design experience (schematic and PCB layout, ideally in Altium Designer)
  • Basic mechanical CAD skills for test fixtures
  • Experience with safety procedures for high voltage systems (up to 1000V)
