Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Harlow is searching for a Senior Electronics Engineer for a 12-month contract role focused on developing Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for the military sector. The position requires expertise in designing and testing FPGA systems, along with strong analytical skills to meet compliance standards. Candidates should have experience with DSP technologies and be eligible for SC security clearance. This role is on-site full time, offering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering embedded firmware as part of a product.
• Knowledge of Embedded C.
• Experience creating embedded system architectures.
• Familiarity with the application of a systems engineering approach.

Responsibilities

• Develop requirements to ensure compliance to relevant standards.
• Create and manage architectures for Digital Electronics and firmware.
• Understand, decompose and verify Design requirements.
• Create FPGA design using VHDL and embedded C.
• Define and perform unit level and subsystem level testing for embedded firmware.
• Create design documents (HW + Firmware).
• Create Test Documents.
• Create Firmware Simulation Test Reports.
• Create Timing and Power Analysis Reports.
• Work alongside other engineers.
• Perform technical reviews of the documents.

Skills

Experience creating top level Design architectures

Experience testing and verifying requirements

Experience in working with DSP, Micro, Memory devices, ADCs, DACs, Power supply

Experience working with FPGAs and SoC technologies

Ability to understand VHDL code

Able to present technical information clearly and concisely

Openness to learn and try new techniques

Ability to adapt to dynamic work environment

Capable of analysing and reporting on technical data

Eligible or holder of current SC security clearance
