The role

This role involves providing expert knowledge in circuit design, components, and PCB technology, with a focus on EMC, power management, servo control, processor interfacing, and communications. The candidate will play a pivotal leadership role within projects, setting high standards for engineering practices and being recognized as an expert in their field. Responsibilities include defining and reviewing system architectures, overseeing power and signal transmission, and ensuring effective power management and production processes. The role also requires regular interaction with senior management and key stakeholders, contributing to both tactical and strategic aspects of projects and team development. The individual will drive process improvements, foster innovation, and lead the technical aspects of multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring systematic approaches are adopted. Additionally, the role includes resource planning, mentoring, and supporting the training and development of engineers within a sub-team.

Qualifications
  • Strong degree in a related discipline accredited by the IET, with around 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in leading and supervising projects or teams.
  • Comprehensive theoretical and practical understanding of electronics design.
  • Proficient in analysis-based activities, including circuit emulation, performance assessments, and power budgeting.
  • Ability to identify key project risks, schedules, critical design activities, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
