We are recruiting for a Senior Electronics Engineer for a successful British manufacturer of USB Chargers, DC-DC voltage converters, and power supplies serving the communications, rail, automotive, and marine markets.

The company designs and manufactures all its own products, supplying to markets across the world.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (39 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop switched-mode power supply products from the initial conception through to production.
  • Lead and collaborate with a small cross-functional team of engineers.
  • Generate product specifications, designs, and test methods.
  • Troubleshoot faults in prototype and production units.
  • Design of production test systems for new products.
  • Estimate and deliver technical development to tight timescales.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in an Electronics Engineering field.
  • 5+ years experience of electronic circuit design, preferably analogue or power electronics, in a relevant industry.
  • Design power supply circuits (DC-DC, AC-DC), microcontroller-based systems, and communication interfaces.
  • Schematic design experience and some experience of PCB layout.
  • Experience of testing and debugging prototype electronic designs.
  • Experience of design for manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience of regulatory standards and approval processes, EMC, LVD, etc.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team as a technical lead.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
