The Role

A leading integrated design and build business is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its dynamic team. In this role, you will shape electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment projects—from initial concept through commissioning. You’ll be involved in both new technology installations and legacy system upgrades, ensuring that every design meets rigorous performance, safety, and efficiency standards.

You will review and develop electrical designs for components such as motor control centres, LV distribution systems, cabling, instrumentation, PLCs, and SCADA systems. Additionally, you will prepare technical specifications, evaluate supplier submissions, mentor junior engineers, and represent the firm in client meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review electrical engineering designs and technical documentation.
  • Ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare detailed specifications and evaluate supplier tender submissions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Represent the company in client and project meetings.
  • Support projects through construction, assembly, and commissioning phases.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered status (or working towards chartership) with a recognised professional institution.
  • Proven track record in delivering high-quality electrical engineering projects in the water sector.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
