Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Manchester

Salary: £50,000 - £58,000

A multi-disciplinary consulting firm is looking to hire a passionate and experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will become part of their supportive team, using design to assist the building services sector in becoming more sustainable.

Key responsibilities:

1. Produce high quality drawings and specifications
2. Conduct design calculations both manually and using computer software
3. Communicate with other design teams, understand client requirements and select solutions appropriately
4. Ensure your work is of the best quality and in line with project budgets
5. Push for continuous professional development, staying up to date with new industry developments, software, and best practices
6. Effective site management, ensuring contractors and installations meet compliance

What we’re looking for:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or another relevant field
• A minimum of 3/4 years’ experience of design in building services
• Experience using relevant software, e.g., Microsoft Suite, Relux/Dialux, Revit, Amtech
• Understanding and familiarity with BREEAM
• Membership/chartership – CIBSE, IET
• Knowledge of British/EU standards and building regulations, and some mechanical engineering practices
