About Our Client

Job Description

I am recruiting a Senior Economic Regulation Advisor for a major infrastructure business in London. You will:

  • Coordinating price review, an important interim step towards the company's first full price control. Work with the Head of Regulation, colleagues across the business and external advisors to develop business plans, carry out benchmarking and financial modelling, prepare documentation as needed and liaise with regulators to help ensure a positive process and outcome;
  • Leading analysis on key aspects of future regulatory model, to support the development of a robust and fair approach;
  • Manage relationships with its Independent Technical Assessor which reports on aspects of the company's functions;
  • Support the Head of Regulation in maintaining and developing credibility with key stakeholders;
  • Support the Head of Regulation in defining and implementing regulatory strategy for the operational phase of the project;
The Successful Applicant

You will have:

  • Experience of economic regulation within the UK or a comparable system, preferably including price controls. This may have been gained for example through working for a regulator, regulated company or consultancy firm.
  • Experience of regulatory reporting and compliance;
  • Experience of managing relationships within key external stakeholder organisations;
  • Experience of communicating regulatory topics to senior managers and colleagues with different areas of expertise;
  • Experience of analysing appropriate regulatory returns on capital.
  • Excellent relationship management (externally and internally) and influencing skills;
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to coordinate workstreams involving colleagues from different personal and professional backgrounds;
