This position offers a salary between £48,000 and £63,000 along with additional benefits.

Job description

Rolls‑Royce SMR is seeking a Senior E3S (Environment, Safety, Security & Safeguards) Case Author to play a pivotal role in producing E3S Cases and Safety Analysis Reports for our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting‑edge nuclear technology and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. You will be responsible for authoring technical documentation, developing Claims, Arguments and Evidence (CAE) structures, and engaging with regulators and stakeholders to support the licensing programme.

Responsibilities
  • Author E3S Case and Safety Analysis Report documents in line with governance and quality assurance standards.
  • Develop and maintain plans for document production and submission to regulators/customers.
  • Support the E3S Case Delivery Lead in programme development aligned with licensing schedules.
  • Provide guidance to engineering and analysis teams to ensure robust arguments and evidence.
  • Engage with external regulators and customers on E3S topics.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Strong technical report writing skills with experience navigating governance processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information clearly.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Good understanding of safety, environmental, or security case development and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders on large‑scale projects.
  • Chartered or working towards Chartered status with a professional engineering body (or equivalent).
