In this senior leadership role, you’ll manage internal delivery teams and external suppliers/partners, as well as line‑manage Digital Project Managers and Junior Digital Project Managers. You’ll play a key part in ensuring strong project management discipline and governance across a diverse portfolio of more than 100 active projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver complex IT and digital projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring quality, cost, and timelines are met.
  • Manage project teams and suppliers, driving effective collaboration and accountability.
  • Control project scope, risk, and change, ensuring adherence to DDaT standards and governance.
  • Monitor budgets and resources, ensuring financial control and timely reporting.
  • Ensure successful service transition, with full operational readiness and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing clear progress updates and managing expectations.
  • Lead and mentor project managers, supporting continuous improvement and best practice.
  • Support PMO governance, ensuring accurate reporting, lessons learned, and process compliance.
Requirements

  • Significant experience managing digital/IT change and transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of Project Management, Change Management, and SDLC methodologies.
  • Background in IT delivery as a Developer, Technical Lead, Business Analyst, or Project Manager.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and risks effectively.
  • Experience managing multi‑supplier, cross‑functional project teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability, with a pragmatic approach.
  • This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance. In some cases, Security Check (SC) clearance may also be required. Candidates must be eligible to obtain this level of clearance.
