Senior Development Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Development Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting the design, testing, and development of advanced electrical, electronic, and electromechanical systems. Reporting to the Lead Development Engineer, you'll work across multiple projects, from concept to qualification, ensuring solutions meet technical and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop test systems and procedures.
  • Conduct development, verification, and qualification testing.
  • Support schematic capture, circuit design, and component selection.
  • Perform laboratory testing and documentation in line with company procedures.
  • Participate in design reviews and technical meetings.
  • Support on-site commissioning and trials, occasionally overseas.
Skills & Experience
  • Hands‑on experience with low‑voltage electrical/electronic systems.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements in engineering environments.
  • Experience in digital/analogue circuit design (desirable).
  • Familiarity with software or programming concepts (desirable).
  • Excellent organisational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Able to plan and manage testing programmes (e.g. EMC, vibration, environmental).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Flexible, proactive, and eager to learn.
Qualifications
  • HNC/HND/BTEC or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Relevant professional experience in a similar role.
