Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager in the Manchester area. The successful candidate will manage design requirements for a major Stadium Expansion project, ensuring timely delivery of all design-related information. Candidates should have a degree in a construction-related discipline and a minimum of six years' industry experience, particularly with high rise residential projects. This role offers a competitive salary range of £85K to £90K depending on experience, alongside associated packages.

Qualifications

  • Minimum six years' construction industry experience.
  • Experience managing design requirements of the tender/project.

Responsibilities

  • Manage design consultants and sub consultants to ensure timely delivery of design information.
  • Chair and minute Design meetings, ensuring production of information for the design.

Skills

High rise residential experience
Understanding of different Client procurement routes
Commercial awareness
Experience of working at pre-construction stage
Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Positioning for alternatives in materials

Education

I'm recruiting on behalf of my client a Leading Tier 1 Main Contractor an experienced Senior Design Manager in the Manchester area.

Start date: Asap

Salary range: £85K -£90K +packages this will be based on experience

Division: Construction New Build

About the project: Stadium Expansion

Required: High rise residential /Tier 1 main contractor experience

Duties

Reporting into the project team you will fully understand and manage the design requirements of the tender/project and to help and guidance to design co-ordinators where and as appropriate.

Responsibilities
  • Manage design consultants and sub consultants along with design sub-contractors to ensure correct and timely delivery of all design related information for the execution of the works on site
  • Input into the selection of the design team
  • Input into the Employers Requirement/Contractor Proposal Compatibility
  • Manage and assist Design Manager during the construction phase
  • Chair and minute Design meetings and ensure production of information in line with the design
  • Consider alternative building methods, sub-contractor and materials
Experience
  • Understand the different Client procurement routes
  • Experience of working at pre-construction stage
  • Understanding of D&B contracts
  • Commercial awareness
  • Be able to use Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint
  • Be able to use Viewpoint for Projects (4Projects)
Qualifications
