A leading defense contractor in Southsea is seeking a Senior Combat Systems Engineer to support engineering change. This role involves compiling evidence, ensuring design integrity, and providing technical support to teams. Candidates should have experience with combat systems, strong performance assessment skills, and effective communication. Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on skills and experience.
Working with the Combat Systems Engineering Manager in supporting the compilation of authoritative evidence to demonstrate that design intent has been achieved for a specific platform, ensuring design change has been holistically integrated.
Ensuring that each design change safety case has integrity, is comprehensive, coherent and consistent.
Applying engineering knowledge and experience to complex engineering change process in the development of engineering impact assessment and in support of problem resolution.
Supporting the collation of evidence to support Naval Authority certification submissions.
Providing technical support to the Class Lead Engineers and Platform Engineering Managers in support of engineering change embodiment.
Supporting the development of team members (e.g. graduates, apprentices and STEM Returners) and teams to enhance skills and competencies, such that technical capability objectives are fully achieved.
Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders as required ensuring that their requirements are adequately supported and that their needs are fully considered and incorporated where appropriate and agreed.
Providing suitable information or instruction for the team to undertake all activities in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
Providing visible engaged commitment to SHE, leading by example and acting on SHE concerns.
