A prominent mental health care provider in Birmingham is seeking a Clinical Psychiatric Pharmacist for a fixed-term role. The position involves collaboration with Aston University to support psychiatric pharmacy courses and enhance clinical skills. Candidates must hold MRPharmS registration and demonstrate experience in psychiatric pharmacy. The role includes providing clinical services and contributing to educational programmes. Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust has developed close links with Aston University and this has led to the development of a teacher-practitioner post between the Department of Psychiatric Pharmacy at Aston and the Trust.
Due to upcoming maternity leave, there is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and motivated clinical psychiatric pharmacist to work on the psychiatric pharmacy courses at Aston University, whilst at the same time continuing to develop their clinical skills and initiating a programme of practice research in the treatment of mental illness. The successful post holder will be well organised and highly motivated with, or currently working towards, the Diploma in Psychiatric Pharmacy or equivalent. They will also have excellent I.T. skills. Experience of writing, publication and mentoring will also be an advantage.
